St. Patrick volleyball is back this spring for the 2017 season following a successful run at last year’s state championship.

The Shamrocks lost five out of the six starters in the past year due to the seniors graduating in 2016.  With a majority of juniors and two seniors, the team has big shoes to fill.

The team started the season with a win against West Leyden on Wednesday, March 22.  This was an exciting and competitive match to play for the boys because they got to play against former St. Patrick biology teacher and JV volleyball coach Ms. Mueller.

Sean McGing, ’18, said, “This win gave us the confidence we need to make it to state.”

Coach Anderson is excited for a new year. His goal, as every year, is to win another conference championship to make the team three-peat champs and to make it to the final-four of the state championship.

According to Coach Anderson, this year he may have the least experienced athletes, but they are the most athletic he’s ever coached.

This is Coach Anderson’s eleventh year at St. Patrick, and he is ready to make his team more competitive to prepare for their road to state.
