Trinidad had lost the previous 8 of their 9 total games, bringing a tarinished reputation upon the United States.

If the U.S. had tied, they would have been elligable to participate in the championships. The last time the U.S. failed to participate in the World Cup was in 1986.

The team found out about their loss in Honduras, which led many players to droop in figure, as they should have been celebrating another victory. However, to their surprise, they were beaten by the Trinidad underdogs.

“The loss to Trinidad and Tobago sums up everything United States soccer has been doing wrong with regards to coaching and training for 30 years,” said Mr. Stopka, Freshmen Soccer Coach at Saint Patrick High School.
