Gustavo Azanon,  ’21, Dominic Sabella, ’20, and Ismael Perez, ’19, participated April 20 in an annual speech contest hosted by the Midwest Chinese Teachers Alliance (MCTA) at Northside College Prep High School.

This year’s topic was “Chinese and Me”, in which students explain their journey learning Chinese.  Students must deliver their speech in Chinese.

Azanon received the gold award in Category IIIA; Sabella received bronze in Category IIIB and Perez received gold in Category IIIC.

Every year each MCTA teacher recommends one student per class level (such as Chinese Level 1, 2, 3, and 4) to compete with other students of the same level from the Chicago area.
