On Thursday, October 15th, three Shamrock Golfers took part in the IHSA’s Sectional tournament.

The tournament, which took place at St. Andrews Golf Course, consisted of over 60 golfers ranging from schools all across the state. The golfers representing the Shamrocks and named Athletes of the Week were senior Colin Flynn, senior Brendan Borner and junior Emilio Bedon. The tournament was 18 holes, consisting of long par 5s, tricky par 4s, and difficult par 3s.

Colin Flynn struggled in the beginning of the round; however, he found his tempo and played excellent golf for the rest of the round. The Edison Park alum shot a 99.

Brendan Borner was very impressive on the course. Borner’s putting game was astonishing as the senior shot a 96.

The Shamrock’s top scorer with an 86, Emilio Bedon, stayed consistent throughout the round and made some of the most difficult shots look easy.

While the Shamrocks did not score low enough for an IHSA trophy, they played excellent golf throughout the entire season.
