Faculty Profile: Mr. Godinez

Charlie Morrissey '20, Features Editor/Faculty

What made you decide to be a teacher?

I think I became a teacher because my mom was a teacher and I grew up around teachers because all of my mom’s friends were teachers. When I was in high school there were a couple teachers I would help. I was a like a teachers aide and would help my mom’s teachers friends for service hours.

Why did you come to St. Pat’s?

I wanted to come back to the city and I had a couple colleagues at my previous school that taught at all boys schools and went to them. They said it was a great experience.

Which class is your favorite and why?

Geometry mostly because it is the first time students learn with logical thinking and geometry is not only used for math but also for multiple subjects.

Are you involved in anything else at St. Pats outside of teaching? (coach, moderator, etc)

I am supposed to be going on Kairos and I’m thinking about helping Mr. Sullivan with the backstage. I am looking to do other things outside of teaching but I have not yet.

What is one thing that students would be surprised to learn about you?

I play the electric bass.
